Below is info on hotels for the upcoming season. We reserved the blocks so we could all stay together and maybe even economize on things like rental cars.

When selecting the hotels for the room blocks, we took several factors into consideration:

• Price – We made sure to select hotels that were as affordable as possible, while also giving us everything else, such as clean rooms, 2 queen beds per room, decent common area so players can hang out etc.
• Room Availability – This may sound silly but we had to make sure we found hotels that are able to accommodate the entire team. There are some nice hotels at a good price that we would have picked but that did not have enough rooms.
• Proximity To Venue – Getting to the venue is a key concern, so we wanted to make sure the distance to the venue was either short, or travel time was low.

Please make sure to check the cancellation policy for each hotel as it varies.

TUCSON – IWLCA Southwest Cup | November 4 & 5

There isn’t much to see in Tucson. The hotel is right next to the freeway and the venue is 10 minutes away. Last year we were in a similar location and it was really convenient. There isn’t much around the hotel, but in Tucson, you kind of need to drive for food and stuff anyway. Here is the hotel info:

HALPERN TRAVEL CANCELLATION POLICY: A non-refundable cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged for any reservations cancelled within 14 days prior to arrival. LAS VEGAS/HENDERSON – Sin City Showdown | December 9 & 10

The Sin City Showdown is in Henderson, which is next to Vegas, and the field is on the east side of town. Staying in Vegas proper is not advisable due to the distance to the venue. The hotel we picked is in Henderson and there is a Trader Joe’s around the corner. Like Tucson, this is not a really pretty town so we focused on nearby amenities, quality of the hotel and time to venue. Here is the hotel info:

PALM SPRINGS – Sand Storm | January 13 & 14

Palm Springs is very spread out, offering many hotel options. Unfortunately, most sell out almost instantly because Sand Storm is the largest tournament of the year. Prices are also very high. The Margaritaville Resort listed below is a really good option and a very good price for that weekend. We stayed there last year and it worked out really well. It also cost almost double…The hotel is nice and it is in the middle of the old downtown Palm Springs so there are a lot of food options and shopping nearby. In terms of distance it is far from the venue, but it is only 5 minutes to the freeway and then it is pretty quick to get to the polo grounds. You will only spend about 10-15 minutes more in the car compared to hotels closer to the polo grounds. In exchange, you get to your hotel 20-25 minutes sooner when you drive from LA. So it kinda balances out. Oh, and there are 2 Starbucks on the road to the freeway, so getting breakfast on the way is not difficult.
